Our Staff

The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

Kirk R. Petersen DDS

Dr. Petersen is from farm country in Idaho. He attended undergraduate school at the University of Idaho and graduated from the University Of Washington School Of Dentistry in 1980. After dental school he did a residency at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City with an emphasis on oral surgery and periodontics. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Dental Organization for Oral Sedation, and holds a fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Petersen shares the philosophy of quality and comfort as does his partner, Dr. Weller. He and his staff strive diligently to provide the highest quality of comprehensive patient care in the most trusting and comfortable manner possible. He has taken additional training in providing deep sedation for patients who would benefit from sedation to relieve their higher level of anxiety.

Dr. Petersen has two children, Haley and Quinn, who are currently in school. He enjoys his spare time with his children and pursuing interests in home improvement, gardening, snow and water skiing, golf and reading.

Eric P. Weller DDS

Dr. Weller, originally from Yakima, is a graduate of the University Of Washington School Of Dentistry. Dr. Weller also received his Bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Washington.

The two most important aspects of dentistry to Dr. Weller are quality and comfort. To this end, Dr. Weller and staff strive to make every dental visit as comfortable as possible while delivering the highest quality dentistry.

Both Dr. Weller and Dr. Petersen are active members of the Horse Creek Study Club which provides top quality continuing education in all areas of dentistry. In addition, Dr. Weller is the founder of Comprehensive Dental Education, which provides extended training for dental auxiliaries.

Outside the office, Dr. Weller enjoys relaxing with friends and spending time with his son, Blaine who is currently an undergraduate student at WSU.

Dr. Weller's year is divided into two parts; racing season and the part of the year that's not racing season. In addition to participating in monthly track days at Pacific Raceways, he enjoys watching F1, sports car and motorcycle road racing.

Emilie J. Dawson DDS

Dr. Dawson grew up in Woodinville and is a graduate of Bothell High School. She attended St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN and graduated with degrees in Biology and Art. After college, Dr. Dawson worked at Overlake Hospital for two years before attending the University of Southern California School of Dentistry where she graduated with honors.

Dr. Dawson prides herself in providing the highest quality of care in a relaxed and friendly environment. Her mission is to serve her patients, to learn their goals and needs, and to exceed their expectations. Dr. Dawson is committed to providing exceptional dental and personal care.

Dr. Dawson strongly believes in the importance of continuing education and is an active member of the Seattle Study Club, an international network of dentists dedicated to excellence in comprehensive care and education. She is a member of the American Dental Association, the Washington State Dental Association, and the Seattle-King County Dental Society.

In her free time, Dr. Dawson enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her husband, BJ. She loves staying physically active and enjoys boating, wakeboarding, hiking, and playing sports. Dr. Dawson also has a passion for art and loves painting and drawing.

Office Staff

Many members of our staff have been a part of the Canyon Park Dental family for over a decade, some for close to 20 years. Our strong support staff is the glue that binds our practice together and allows the doctors to concentrate on delivering the finest quality dentistry.

From the moment you walk through our door to taking a seat in one of our hygiene or Doctor treatment rooms to the friendly farewell as you leave, you will know that our staff is the best in the business.
