Your first visit to Canyon Park Dental involves a few special steps so that we can get to know you. To understand what to expect, please read through this page. You'll find all the practical information you need.

Our adult patients will not receive a cleaning on their first visit. Many patients are confused by this, but we cannot clean your teeth properly until we assess your periodontal condition. Many patients will require a one-hour cleaning, but some will, depending on their periodontal health require two or possibly four cleaning appointments. One size does not fit all.

At your new patient appointment you will receive a full set of x-rays, full periodontal probe readings, periodontal assessment by one of our hygienists and a full dental examination from Dr Weller, or 7 vertical bitewings depending on if we can locate a current full set of x-rays from your previous office. At this point you will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss the necessary treatment (if needed) with the doctor.

At the end of your new patient exam you will be scheduled for your cleaning appointment and any appointments necessary for restorative dentistry.
